Good to Know

  • Glaciers are constantly changing, and the ice cave visited may vary depending on conditions. Some caves are larger or more striking than others, but each is unique and selected based on safety and the best possible experience on the day.
  • This tour is depends on weather condition. Guest safety is our top priority, and tours may be altered or cancelled if conditions are deemed unsafe by National Park Authorities. Late cancellations or itinerary adjustments may be unavoidable due to changing weather or glacier conditions.
  • Ice cave colours can appear more or less blue depending on weather, snow cover, and natural light. This is a popular area, and you may share the cave with other groups. Guides do their best to manage time and space.
  • Ice caves are seasonally accessible and only entered when conditions are safe. If the tour is cancelled by the operator due to weather, safety, or glacier conditions, customers will receive a full refund.

Meeting Point

This tour departs from the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon Parking Lot. The meeting point is on the East side of the parking lot (further from the lagoon), where you will see super jeeps and tour vans parked. This adventure is operated jointly with our partners at Glacier Mice. Please look for a bright orange truck with the Arctic Adventures logo in the window, and our meeting point sign in front. Here, the guide will greet you and lead you to the Super Jeep. Please note that our tours leave promptly. We recommend arriving AT LEAST 15 minutes before your scheduled tour. Jökulsárlón is a busy area. There are parking lots on either side of the Route 1 highway: beside the Glacier Lagoon, and south of the bridge at the Diamond Beach. Please allow plenty of time to find parking and make your way to the meeting point, on the East side of the Glacier Lagoon parking lot. A parking fee is charged by Vatnajökull National Park, which can be paid in the Parka app.
