Jökulsárlón: Glacier Hike to a Remote Ice Cave
Title as listed by the operator: Ice Walkers Tours

Before you book
- Meets at the Jökulsárlón main car park (look for the Ice Walkers 4x4), about five hours' drive from Reykjavík; the transfer to the glacier takes up to 40 minutes.
- Covers about 8 km with uphill sections over three to three and a half hours, reaching at least one ice cave; the route goes further than most tours to avoid crowds.
- Minimum age 12; not suitable for people with back, heart or respiratory problems, low fitness, mobility impairments or wheelchair users. Glacier gear and headlamps are supplied.
- Winter clothing, food and drinks are not included; ankle-covering, fairly stiff boots are required or you may be turned away.
- Runs roughly October to April; which cave is reached depends on conditions on the day.
